Your guide to Whānau HQ COVID care

Testing positive for COVID-19 can be worrying. It is normal to feel unsure about what this means for you, your whānau, and the people you live with.

This information will help you to look after yourself and your loved ones if you get COVID-19.

Important things to remember

Record your positive result online

It's important you and your whole whānau record your Rapid Antigen Test results, especially if your result is positive.

You can do this online at My COVID Record or by calling  0800 222 478

This makes it easier for you and your whānau to receive the COVID-19 care that you may need, such as receiving manaaki and welfare support or ordering medicine deliveries while you’re isolating.

If you have recorded a positive COVID-19 result and need extra support with food and finances call the COVID-19 Welfare line  on 0800 512 337

Protect yourself and others

The key ways that you can protect yourself and whānau against COVID-19;

  • Get vaccinated - Your 1st, 2nd, booster and Tamaki (5-11 year old) vaccinations are still the best protection against COVID-19 for you and your whānau. Find your local vaccination centre here
  • Being prepared - having a plan if you and your whānau need to isolate
  • Staying home if you’re sick - if you don't feel well, then stay away from work, school and events, and take a RATs test. Find out more about testing here
  • Wearing a mask - when you are out in public
  • Improving air ventilation indoors
  • Physical distancing when in public
  • Using basic hygiene - always wash your hands and use sanitiser often. Wipe down communal surfaces in shared areas regularly.
